Residents invited to learn more about the Neighbourhood Plan

Following on from the successful publication of the East Preston Action Plan, East Preston residents are now invited to help produce a Neighbourhood Plan for East Preston.

Chairman of East Preston Parish Council, Cllr Joop Duijf said, “The Localism Act has given communities the right to produce a Neighbourhood Plan, setting out policies on the development and use of land in a defined local area. The municipal parish of East Preston has already been defined as the East Preston Neighbourhood Area. Having a Neighbourhood Plan will give the community of East Preston the ability to play a greater role in determining where future development will take place in the village, and what that development could look like.”

Having received a grant from central government, East Preston Parish Council has commissioned Action in rural Sussex (AirS) to work with it. AirS will be coming to East Preston to meet with interested local residents and businesspeople to explain further how a Neighbourhood Plan is created and how it works. If you are interested, please contact the Council Office on (01903) 770050 or come along to the Guide Hut in Lashmar Road at 10am on Wednesday, 6th February.
